This is the second event I have chosen to follow, again because football is something I am interested in and also this year the team that support and have followed throughout my life, Liverpool FC are in the final. Also I feel that the two choices’ I have made will provide a completely different insight into the way in which different types of events are marketed in different ways.
The Carling Cup Final is always the first cup final of the calendar year and normally falls in February, this year is no different and the final is being held on Sunday 26th.

For those of you who for some reason have no idea what this is all about here is a little bit of history regarding the competition.
The Carling Cup did not always have this name, the first name it was given was simply, The Football League Cup and it was introduced over 50 years ago during the 1960/61 season. By the time the competition had reached its 21st year The Football League Cup became the first major Competition in English football to have a sponsorship and the competition became known as the Milk Cup named after the Milk marketing board. Throughout the years following on up until the present day the name of the trophy has changed 5 times including the Coca Cola Cup and the Worthington Cup. The final for the tournament has been held at various stadiums throughout the country before now getting a permanent fixture at Wembley Stadium in London.
I would recommend you choose a different event as this will sell out and there will be little to comment on except post-match PR
